I have noticed there is a pen 'maker' called Ariel Kullock when I was browsing through the 'bay.
To the novice such as myself, I found it interesting to see Parker 51 pens (stop reading now Peter, lol) had been customised into all manner of colours and had extra trinket bits added to them.
Does anyone have personal knowledge of the quality, finish, etc of these pens?
What do you think of them? Should classics be left as classics, or should they be open to modifications (think hotrod cars lol)?
They certainly caught my eye!

I personally like them. The quality can be a little hit & miss due to his lower QC standards but for the most part they are great pens. I've owned a few over the years & for what you get they are a decent buy.
Here's a link to his site.

Now if you want to talk superior custom 51's. Look for Ralph Prather or Brad Torelli. Now those boys have their guano together.
Hey Jack, don't you have a Torelli 51?

Yes, Dennis. I have a 51 from Brad in White. Also have several Kullock 51's, 3 Demonstrators, one in white and one in Mandarin Yellow. (might have a couple of others too)
BTW, Jesy Kullock runs the pen business and is great to deal with.
You wanted some Parker Kullocks, so here are mine:
Left to Right: Vacumatic Fantasy Yellow, 51 Fantasy Yellow, 45 Fantasy White Pearl, 51 Fantasy White, 51 Aerometric Fantasy Pearly Purple, 45 Demonstrator Green; 45 Demonstrator Blue, 51 Aerometric Demonstrator Clear & 51 Aerometric Demonstrator Orange
You forgot panting & drooling...lol. I really like the demo & #1 on the left. The purple is pretty funky cool too. I like the White but don't know about the silver cap band & blind cap trim. It feels a little too 'industrial & clinical' at the same time to me. Still a damn fine looking pen & awesome collection.
Jessy Kullock in LA '05(06?) She's quite the photogenic young lady.

VERY nice pens. I particularly like the two yellow ones (esp the Vacumatic). Dennis, I like the silver blind cap. I know what you mean, but it matches the extra silver on the top of the cap, just for a bit of symmetry.
The only choice for prospective buyers is:
1. Pay a lot for a good original restored 51; or
2. Pay a lot for a remodelled version of the 51
