So how does the smooth round clear red button get removed. Other BF pens I've removed the button from the rear. Having a hard time gripping the button to pull out as I've done on other BFers. Gripping with section plier starting to deform the button. Help me before I break something. Thanks. Regards, Richard
You have to remove the section and the old ink sac. Then push the red button into the barrel and out the section side. if things are still ok in there, the pressure bar should be inserted into the end of the button. reassembly is just the reverse. insert the bar/button, then the sacced section.
Also check the section very close for hairline cracks

Thank you. My gut was telling me that from the front was the way this was going to resolve opening this pen. However my searches didn't yield any anatomy lessons on Wearever BF pens. This a a pretty pen. Tortoise shell stripe Duofold type plastic, 14K made in USA nib. Condition overall is minty I'd say. Actually this pen is performing nicely after some nib play. It does fill. It has also flooded at the nib a couple of times. So I'm curious about the condition of the sac and size since I've not had a part in what is inside. Could be the original sac. Section looks quite pristine.
How available are replacement buttons. Although mine still works it show some deformation from my attempts to remove. Appreciate the quick response Dennis.
Life lesson #1. Always listen to your instincts. They will rarely let you down.
I just got in a red stripe pacemaker this afternoon. (pacemaker/meteor essentailly the same pen. Very slight size difference)
The nib is flooding for 1 reason. The pen was sold with a #18 sac inside rather than thje #16 it needed. Sawp out the sac & it'll never happen again. That geinuas move to use an oversize sac was due to the 'our pen holds XXXX drops' advertising wars.
That is a great pen you have there. In the very highest ranks of wearevers best & one of only a hand full sold with 14K nibs.
I have some replacement pieces here. Send me your address to vintagedelights01@gmail.com & I'll see you get one.
Lone live the wearever love..lol Dennis
