Yep, a Wearever piston filler....with a 14 K gold nib. New only dipped NOS.

Having seen the brown NOS and the blue NOS striped Wearever, I had a $20 bid in there, because I'd seen the brown one go for $30-32, before I noticed it was a Wearever....for while I was stymied. Twenty bucks for a Wearever.....in the end it cost me $40...and I think it was fair...it is a very pretty pen, NOS.....

Well I could have bought a bottle of cheap 12 year old scotch for that.....

It was Wearever's last gasp....and they should have done it before, because a piston filler you load on Monday and shoot all week, like a Spenser or Henry rifle back in the Civil war, vs those one day sac fillers.

Ok, it's a slight exaggeration.

I've got mine, so get yours. It was in US (the blue one that the man did not know what it was) and German Ebay. The man on German Ebay may have more. Go to world wide and type in Clipper.

Man I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that simply isn't a� product. Without trying to sound like a pompous know it all jackass, I am the foremost collector of David Khan Inc./Wearever items on the planet. I collected them full time and all out hard core like for 14 years. Several months ago I sold 85% of my entire collection. 500 plus pens among many other goodies, and no where in there was a pen remotely close to that pen.

To my knowledge DKI never used that particular style/shade of celluloid. While they did use a 'pink' it was a brilliant near fluorescent color, the next step in color was a rose pinstripe but is again not this pattern/shade.

The clip also appears to be unlike any they used. They naver utilized a piston filling mechanisim. They were strictly, eye dropper, lever, button, cartridge and 2 slight departures into squeeze 'aerometric' style fillers. While they did use visuilated sections on a couple of models they were produced in the late 1930's and looked nothing like this very attractive pen of yours.

Finally comes the nib. While they did use 14k in the manufacture of 4 models. 14K steel frame overlay on the clear vue models, the Zenith from the mid/late 40's, again looks nothing like this and only came in 6 solid colors. (Black, royal blue, brugundy/maroon, forrest green, light dove grey and the very hard to find houseman brown.) the Pacemaker/Meteor lines Pacemaker is a slightly upscale Meteor, slightly larger nib brilliant red button filler button, blind cap marked DK in a circle, and nib will have the same. Meteor is the same size but has a smaller nib. striped mid/late 1940's plain Warranted 14K nib. Never diod they use a picture like that on any nib they ever made. I truly hate to say it, but it looks like someone found a NOS pen & dropped it in a Pretty Wearever box.

If you pick any others up, i'd love to have one, they look very cool!

Everything about that pen screams knockoff of a 100nn or 400nn Pelikan.

OK I'd wondered about it being a Wearever my self. In that I had read and copied all that I could find from you. In I have 9-10 Wearevers all needing sac's.
How is the book coming?
Mine is going slow, in I use any excuse, like being on Ebay 14 hours a day to avoid it. I'm writing a western....that could be done but for the final huge cutting inside of a week of 12 hour days.

The only Clipper I could find in the Lambau book was a Shaeffer.
In none of the other pictures did I see a Wearever notice of any kind, box or being said.

That was the third Clipper of this type that I saw in the last three weeks, that I noiticed. One was a brown striped, piston filler, the other blue striped.
I thought it a very pretty pen, and red...the only other red pens I have are Wearevers, and I was looking for colored pens....striped, mottled before plain vanilla.

Then the big questions is.....what the hell is it?
I'm happy, with it as is. Wearever don't draw the bidders like an Eastie or a Parker or a MB.
I'll drop the guy a line, and ask, what he throught it really was, and ask for some histroy, in he is supposed to have been a "collector".

Keep your eye open, I expect next week another, in he had a brown striped one last week and there was a blue striped one that was in S. Califormia and the guy didn't know what it was.
I'd wondered about the piston filler, but hey, I have a late 1950's, early '60's button filler from Wearever.

I have a whole slew of black German no name pens, and it is prettier than them....

Ok I paid a lot ofr it @$40, but it's purtty!!!!!
Piston filler and 14 k gold nib.
14 K means I can get it adjusted to be more flexible come the day.....and with so many pens.....we are speaking about a lot of come the day's.......

What I need is the bottom pen cap. It is a Pacemaker I think. I'd prefer the black, pearl brown and pearl� white crooked stripes� top.

The second from the bottom is pretty too.The Pearly grey black striped �Delux is very nice too....I'd already "given" it up.�How ever I can change my mind.

�I'd take a cap for that too. It's nice. I'll give it up so some one in love with his cap...I'm not in love with it, just dearly in like.

As you can see, the marbled red�pen cap I have extra�is match in color for a compleat pen. I don't need every model....I never wanted it all.....just a pen of each major brand's types. Still sort of greedy ain't I?

The bottom pen top I want....cheap.
The second from bottom pen bottom belongs if need be, to some one who needs it, more than me.

The pen cap, belongs to any one that needs it.

Send stamps...US do fine, I'll need them for shipping my book from one publisher to the next...with out shipping it back to me across the pond.
other than that I can't use US stamps. I'm not selling this stuff per say. I want postage, that is all.

Stamps in an envelope to me to match cost of shipping the cap, or the Delux would do. I go tot the poste office with the packed thing to see what it costs, 1Euro +@ $1.50, and we are in like Flynn.
And be merciful if you got a matching cap to the Pacemaker....blue moons where money flows don't happen as much as they use to, being retired.

Besides which I wasted enough to a pen or two cheaper pens, on a bottle of The Famous Grouse.....a very nice light drinkable scotch. I'd never had any in my 60 years.....so ink a glass with it some time in a real good bar....it's very drinkable.

I do drink scotch...I sort of turn my nose up at only 12 year old single malts.....of course by me a bottle lasts three years.

For years I was so dumb. Even though I'd traveled parts of the Whiskey trail twice in Scotland....where I thought those folks were stupid to add a splash of water or an ice cube to a great whiskey.......I was wrong....go to Royal Crown com and learn about "breaking" the whiskey.....and me a good bartender for 8 years and thinking I knew where my ass and my elbow was.

�Still happy....even if I got a Pelikan 140 and a 400 (605 too)...dont have the nn though....got to go look up that german guy....turns out that black tortourse 400 is the darkest brown I ever saw in my life...it might mean something.....still got the 1983-96 + nib on it, though.

Screams never used....writes Medium. Everything was real squeeky new...too new. It took some seven to 10 times of taking the cap on and off to make it feel ok. A couple of times feeding it water to make it eat ink.

The piston felt like it never ever was inked......and this guy sold one in a different color the week before and there was a blue one like it that showed up from Asia, that that guy didn't know what it was.

I wonder if some chinese company is now making real replicas....but with pistons.

Stainless steel clip and cap bottom.

There is strip wide burn mark, looks like some one tried to fix a leak with a sodering iron.
I have bitched to the EBay man....he's sitting on 100% so I think 1/4th back is fair.
To take such pictures and call it "new" and miss that is impossible.

... The under side of the nib feed is cross hatched...something I'd nver seen before...but I'm still noobie.

Hello china....my now best guess.

Most Wearevers take a #16 sac, a #14 for the 30's Pioneer/Supreme models.

It's dead. I couldn't pull it together. Needed cash in a major way and sold the collection. If someone ever gets it written I'll be glad to advise, but I'll never write it.

Dunno, but looks nice, if it's a good writer then go for it & enjoy the pen.

True, but there are some models/colors that seriously draw the coin. I have seen 1 set NOS mint in the box sell for over $600 to/in a cross collectors market.

It's very close to a Geha 790 in shape...and turned out to have a barely semi-flex nib....now that I know about semi-flex.
6 months later ....The same guy had a gray stripped one up, this week. Too broke to chase it.

Since then the book turned into two books and another 600 pages....still two weeks away..... from being finished....except for the cutting.
