I load of self serving junk served up by one of the greater hypocrites over on FPN.

We like to encourage people to think for themselves, to do reviews and to actively participate by adding content, that doesn't always sit well with some people, however, despite the downsides and vented spleens that the mods and Admin encounter it's worth it because people usually think of the FPN as a good place to be.


If they actually did treat people there like they said they do it would be much less ironic!

So far I have never seen anything at FPN that would make me think that they did other than that. I certainly might be wrong but that so far is my impression.

This sort of melds with what you are talking about.

I've been thinking about how to deal with the eventual member verbal brawl/nuclear holocaust flame war. I wonder if I shouldn't make a forum/ for 'brawl threads' (fight club?) to get moved to. I won't close the post or stop things unless extreme profanity or other forum no-no's are breached. (hell your grown ups, your responsible for your own posts & can fight your own battles..right?)

Thankfully we haven't had any that need to go there yet, but for that time when we do it may be a good idea to have something ready in the wings.

What do you folks think?

They should just be deleted if it appears to "have gone too far"!

I have to admit, I have deleted some posts in the past, that I felt were inappropriate, or were personal attacks. I'm just sayin'...........

I too have been deleted ("warned") on FPN for a post or two about bad experiences.
I wrote about an auctioneer who had joined just to sell an estate auction. He used Proxybid, and some of my bids were not honored. I was actually screwed out of a couple lots!
(So were they, since my bids were higher!)

It's a lot more laid back here! We all know each other from these forums for the most part.
Usually things said here are not meant to be malicious!

Dennis,  I don't think we need a special area to vent spleen like that here.  This is the 4,527th post on this site, and I can't really recall seeing anything like bitching aimed at fellow members.

If anyone gets something that far up their nose, they should go for a walk and don't forget the 24 hour rule......don't do anything about it for 24 hours.  It will all look in different scale tomorrow!

That is profound as I'm getting tonight.  Off to bed for me.

And just to be sure here is a moderator's quote from over there in a thread about a blog post.  Note that he is quick to put down a person who can not defend nor probably cares that this is written about him:

I read the other articles as well. He's someone who was here and didn't get on with the people or the way things are run and who is in essence bitter and eager to show what a big and worldly man he is. It's a condition which I find slightly tragic but evidentially not unique.

And a totally self serving little post just to show that he cna flex his moderator muscle.

And to the poster who pressed the report button on my comments, you have a PM and given that in one of his other articles he states:

Amazing that he calls his term as moderator a reign of terror.  No truer words were spoken by someone at FPN than those.
