His Nibs.com update -- Titanium & re-stocking from China

March 31st, 2010

Greetings all,

This newsletter brings the introduction of
two new versions of the Monteverde Invincia
-- which, over its long history, has become
something of an unofficial flagship
for the company. Be sure to
check out the black nibs!

A very large re-stocking order arrived from
China this week. There are too many models to
mention in this newsletter, but I've spread
them across the His Nibs.com homepage.

See some of the work of pen turner Randy
Filkin, and how he's begun to use our Whimsy
pen stands for displaying his colorful work.

Join us on our Facebook fan page!

On the blog...a White House video on
presidential signing pens and a Vivian Vance
Sheaffer commercial!

Monteverde Invincia Stealth & Titanium

The ever-popular Invincia line from
Monteverde continues to expand -- just
recently with the Black Pearl finish

-- larger nibs in F, M and B, and now with
the use of titanium as shown in the two pens
above.

As I write this, the small initial order of
pens I received have sold out, just
through word of mouth. Consequently, I'll be
placing a larger order at the end of the
week. So if you're too late in snagging one
of the ones still in stock, fear not, as the
wait for your pen will be short (be it
fountain pen,
rollerball or ballpoint) as it will reach me
within
a week of re-ordering.

When ordering (mailto:orders@hisnibs.com) a
fountain pen, please specify nib size as
well. Note: I've found that the new, large
Monteverde nibs run about a size smaller than
typical western nibs. Hence, I'd classify the
B nib as a typical medium, the M as a fine
and the F as an x-fine.

Did I mention that the nibs were black? smile.gif

Chinese pen re-stocking

I've re-stocked every recently sold-out
Chinese model on the website -- if they were
currently available from my suppliers.

As this encompasses a lot of models, I've
interspersed them on the homepage for easy
reference, with a back in stock label
under each one. So, please scroll down the
full page to see them all.

Pen turner Randy Filkin

Here's a 'shout out' to Randy Filkin, a
pen turner in Colorado Springs who is producing
some lovely ballpoint pens with very
attractive shapes and materials. This is one
of my favorites...Cappuccino! Best of all,
they're displayed on our new Whimsy
pen stands http://www.hisnibs.com/whimsy.htm! smile.gif

On the blog...Presidential pens & Vivian does Sheaffer

One of the March 25th entries has a White
House video on Presidential signing pens,
which I think you'll find interesting.
However, downloading the video may be a bit
frustrating, as it seems they haven't allowed
enough bandwidth for all the people that
still seem to be accessing it. Patience required!

Also, take a look at the March 5th entry,
which features a advertisement for Sheaffer
Snorkle pens...starring Vivian Vance from 'I
Love Lucy'.
