HisNibs.com update -- New ink colors from Private Reserve
Greetings,
Fast on the heels of the new Invincible Black (back in stock), Chartreuse and color additions to its line of Fast Dry ink, Private Reserve introduces two new colors ... Sepia and Rose Rage.
If you're unlike me, and actually think about holiday gifts this early, you might want to snag one of the last Limited Edition Mega Nabu Ink*Balls or Rosewood Mega fountain pens that have just been added to the Palace.
On a very sad note, we lost the wonderful Maryann Zucker of Empire Pens and the NY/NJ Pen Show, after a long illness. Our hearts go out to her husband Steve and the rest of her family and friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sepia and Rose Rage inks from Private Reserve
It's always a challenge to present new ink colors over the Internet, as monitors vary and word descriptions are always inadequate. However...I find the new Sepia ink to be a really neat 'old timey' color...something you might find on that 18th Century document hidden up in your attic, just waiting for you to take to the Antiques Roadshow and find out you're a multi-millionaire.
It's lighter than the Chocolat, perhaps a bit closer to the Copper Burst, but different. Now, is that all clear?
I don't believe that any of the Founding Fathers used anything quite like Rose Rage when penning their documents. Now maybe Betsy Ross...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last of its kind....
The very last of the Limited Edition Monteverde Mega Ink*Ball Nabu painted-inside pens is offered in the Flowers & Birds version.
This magnificent work of art is a real stunner. Make sure that you follow the link in the Palace to it's webpage and view the video of how these pens were produced. It's an amazing process.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last of its kind part 2
Like the Nabu above, the Mega Rosewood limited edition pen is the last of its kind. The warmth and comfort of its sinuous barrel is a joy to hold and write with.
Like the Nabu, it's a Mega Ink*Ball (a rollerball that fills with fountain pen ink). But it's also a convertible pen...that transforms into and oversized fountain pen, with Monteverde's large, 14K gold nib!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Memoriam: Maryann Zucker
Our pen community lost a leading light this past weekend, with the passing of Maryann Zucker of Empire Pens, and along with her husband Steve, the organizers of the New York Pen Show.
For those of you not fortunate enough to have known Maryanne -- or just want a way to remember her -- here's a little interview that I did with her at the conclusion of the 2007 show.
She will be greatly missed.

The November 16 blog entry has an interesting video from the New York Times about some cars that I won't be fitting into anytime soon.
