The Conklin Herringbone series combines vintage appeal with modern bold style and elegance. Based on the overall design of the Conklin Duragraph model from the 1920's, the new Herringbone version takes the design into the 21st Century. The unique Herringbone pattern itself is achieved by using a very precise computerized engraving machine to cut the deep pattern on airplane-grade aluminum. This elegant pattern, reminiscent of the Conklin crescent shape itself, is seen underneath a special translucent colored acrylic and coated with several layers of epoxy for protection and brightness.

The Conklin Deco Crest is available as a fountain pen or ballpoint, in either solid 925% sterling silver overlay or rose gold vermeil over silver.
Both are made in Florence, Italy, by the hands of the descendants of the artisans that made Florence the artistic center of the Renaissance. Added to this design of the filigree overlay is the beveled edge and gravure workmanship carved into the metal.
The Conklin Deco Crest series is available as a Limited Edition of 98 silver fountain pens, 98 silver ballpoints, 98 rose gold vermeil fountain pens, and 98 rose gold vermeil ballpoints.

Let me make it clear. The pen is named for the design of the clip -- not the striped, somewhat iridescent finish.
The large, hinged clip is what really distinguishes this model however. Somewhat reminiscent of the military clips of a bygone age -- which allowed the pen to seat itself deeper in the pocket, with less of the cap visible than more standard clip designs -- these clips will spread away from the cap almost a full 1/2". Why you'd ever need such clearance I can't really say, but their springs allow them to snap back in place very securely, for worry-free grip.

The pen that started it all for His Nibs.com 13 years ago...still at the same $15.00 price it was then!
"Hi Norman, I just received the Hero 329 today. I have to say I'm very impressed with this pen. This is my first Hero, and I really wasn't expecting much, mostly because of the price of this pen, but I was pleasantly surprised. The iridium-tipped nib and the spring loaded clip are usually only found on pens costing many times what you're charging for the 329. It's a lightweight, well balanced pen with great looks that writes very well, and the Aerometric style filler works great! All in all, it's a great pen at an unbelievable price. I will definitely be adding more Hero pens to my collection. Thanks for the great pen." T.P., Mtn Home AFB, ID
"My order arrived safe and sound a few minutes ago. I have inked up the 329 already. I love it! I find it amazing that such quality is available so inexpensively." M.B., Victoria, BC, Canada
Norman, got back from San Diego yesterday and discovered the pen waiting for me. *Incredible* is the only way to describe it. The reviews on your page about the 329's were not hyperbole at all- and I was pleased to note, the 329 IS much smoother than my Montblanc ever was. Thanks for making these pens available! I see why the Parker 51 was/is so popular. :)" T.G., Colorado Springs, CO
