Not many pencils, since I prefer pens. But these are my few vintage pencils I'll share:

Thanks for the link - looks like some good reading to do there....

David Nishimura said that my three pocket pencils were pretty common. I know little about them except that they are hallmarked sterling silver. At least they didn't get turned in to a gold and silver scavenger for cash before I got hold of them...

David knows his guano, I'd take his word at face value. Common or not they are bad ass and I think they would make a good start for a collection.

Hey there, thought I'd dive in the pool. First post here.

The top pencil looks to be Mabie Todd - you might find a tiny "MT" logo on it near the nose. The center one is definitely a Cross in sterling - look for a tiny "AXT," which is the company's A.T. Cross logo (get it?).

The bottom one is a little harder to diagnose. It looks a lot like a miniature version of the "Mabie Magazine" pencil made by Mabie Todd - a leadholder, actually, as the tip should just act to tighten or release the lead.

Jon,
Thanks for the help ID'n those pencils! I'll have to dig them out and put on my magnifier to read the hallmarks! (They are small, and my eyes less than a certain national symbol-like). I'm not a big pencil collector, but it's good to know what I've got tucked away... smile

Most of my other MPs are modern companions to my pens, so I've got little of interest to show of those...
