HisNibs.com update -- Jinhao Pagoda and Private Reserve

Greetings,

This time we introduce the Jinhao Pagoda series of fountain pens. There are
few things more iconic of China than a Pagoda, unless it's a dragon. Oh,
this pen has those too!

On the Private Reserve ink front...they're all back in stock. Joining the
regular stable of colors is the new Invincible Blue.

The recently introduced colors of Cadillac Green and Vampire Red are now
available in both cartridges and the large bottles. After some clogging
problems, Vampire Red has been totally reformulated.

I'm also sticking my toe in the Maxi cartridge waters. These are the longer
International carts that are 2-3/4" in length, holding approximately twice
the amount of ink of the standard size. I'm starting with American Blue and
Velvet Black to gauge interest.

Jinhao Pagoda



When we think of Asian cultures -- perhaps especially China -- an image of a
dragon often first comes to mind (the Chinese actually refer to themselves
as the 'Dragon's Offspring'). Another image that frequently arises is that
of a pagoda, an architecture often associated with Asian temples. Well, with
this pen, you get both!

These lacquer-over-brass pens are full-to-oversized, measuring 5-7/8"
capped, 6-1/2" posted, and 5" with cap held aside.

Private Reserve Invincible Blue



Although there was an Invincible Aqua Blue several years ago, this
Invincible Blue is an all-new formulation, with a deeper and richer color.

Invincible Black -- and the new Invincible Blue --are inks that have been
thoroughly tested and found to be light-fast and quick drying, with no
feathering.
Created with stable dyes and formulas, Invincible inks resists water, bleach
and other chemicals, but is easily cleaned from pens, nibs and converters --
with no residue.

Cadillac Green & Vampire Red now in cartridges



Two of the newer Private Reserve colors -- Cadillac Green and Vampire Red --
are now also available in the large size bottle and in cartridge form.

There were some issues with the original batch of Vampire Red a couple of
months ago. I discovered that it was clogging some of my test pens with
particulate matter, and read that some other users were also having
problems.



I contacted Terry at Private Reserve and he immediately set about
reformulating the ink. My stock is now the new batch....and it's the same
great -- and scary -- color of dried blood! So, give it a try, and if you
purchased any of the original formulation and it gave you trouble with flow
or stoppage, just contact Terry at info@privatereserveink.com and he'll be
happy to make it right!

Private Reserve Maxi carts



As mentioned at the beginning of the newsletter, I'm also sticking my toe in
the Maxi cartridge waters. These are the longer International carts that are
2-3/4" in length, holding approximately twice the amount of ink of the
standard size, and fit the majority of fountain pens (just measure the
converter in your pen). I'm starting with American Blue and Velvet Black to
gauge interest.

They come in 6-packs for $5.00 and I'll be happy to take requests for any of
the other colors offered by Private Reserve.
