His Nibs.com update -- New Delta & Mega September 22nd, 2007
Next week we'll be attending the NY/NJ Pen Show http://www.nycpenshow.com/home.html and hope to see many of your there.
I again urge everyone to sign the petition http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/Fountain-Pen-Stamps for the USPS fountain pen stamps series. We need a lot more signatures to make an impression on the postal service.
Monteverde has answered the call for creating an all-black Mega in the smaller size employed by the burgundy and limited edition versions. The gold trim sets it apart from its oversized black cousin as well.
With the recent passing of Luciano Pavarotti, it's fitting that his predecessor -- perhaps the greatest tenor in history -- Enrico Caruso, should be honored with a series of pens. Delta has done just that -- in rich, beautiful celluloid -- with their Limited Edition Caruso pens.
Delta also introduces a model that's a bit easier on the pocketbook...the Vintage. Classic lines, with a less-than-classic price.
Lai Yee has been inundated with orders for her handmade pen rolls since their introduction in our last email update. The 'Chinese Horoscope' and 'Cats' patterns have permanently sold out, but she's introduced five or six new patterns for your inspection.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gold and black Mega
Since it's introduction in 2006, the Mega line of pens has re-written the definition of what a fine rollerball means. From the very beginning, I've had customers who've said 'I love the look of the all-black oversized Mega, but it's just a bit too big for my hand. Can Monteverde make an all-black that's the same size as the medium-sized burgundy?'
Monteverde listened, and we're proud to present the Gold and Black, and all-black body with/Gold (3 micron) plating trim. The medium-sized gold and black Mega is actually a full-sized pen by anyone's definition. It measures 5-1/4" capped and 5-3/4" posted. For the fountain users amongst us, it's just a little shorter -- and with a similar girth -- to a Montblanc 149!
His voice soared above the constraints of early recording technology and his records achieved far greater popularity than any other music of the time.
During his career, Caruso made over 266 recordings. He sang at many of the World's greatest opera houses but he is best remembered for his 17-year career as leading tenor at New York's Metropolitan Opera House which began on November 23rd, 1903 with his seminal performance as the Duke of Mantua in Verdi's Rigoletto.
Delta's Enrico Caruso Collection pays tribute to the talent, the music, and the drive of one of the most famous people of the 20th century. These are writing instruments in a grand tradition.
Delta has long been known for producing some of the most beautiful, handcrafted entries in all of 'Pendom', whether in their regular lines -- such as the Dolcevita -- or in their limited editions, like the new Caruso.
Unfortunately, the price-range (even with our generous discount) of most models has put them out-of-range of a number of collectors. I'm happy to announce that Delta has produced a new line of pens -- with classic styling -- that directly addresses that issue. The Vintage collection brings Delta design and craftsmanship within reach of a whole new group of pen enthusiasts.
Important note: This is a cartridge-only pen, and was not designed to fit an ink converter.
Measuring a bit over 10" high, these plastic jumbo pen containers work perfectly to house your gift of a pen roll -- or for filling them with a pen or two (tissue paper works well), chocolates (my personal favorite), ink cartridges -- or whatever your imagination conjures up. They're also handy to win bets of 'who has the biggest fountain pen'!
