HisNibs.com update --
PBS and White Mega
January 19th, 2008

This coming week we'll be preparing for the
Philadelphia
Pen Show http://www.philadelphiapenshow.com/, held January 25-27. Philly is
always a great show...as long as the snow
stays away!

One of the items we'll be debuting at the
show is the new Monteverde Mega in White &
Gold. This line of Ink*Ball pens keeps
expanding due to its seemingly unceasing
popularity.

Lai Yee will be taking a whole bunch of new
pen roll designs as well.

The PBS show Tempo! broadcast a
segment on 'His Nibs' this week, and I have a
link to it on the homepage. I think they did
a nice job...although there could have been
more of Mrs. Nibs!

My order of Delta Israel 60th Anniversary
pens arrived in time for the Philly show...I
just hope I have some left to take with me!
They've been selling very well.

Mega White & Gold

Since it's introduction in 2006, the Mega
line of pens has re-written the definition of
what a fine rollerball means. We're proud to
present the White & Gold, an all-white body
with/Gold (3micron) plating trim. The
medium-sized gold and black Mega is actually
a full-sized pen by anyone's definition. It
measures 5-1/4" capped and 5-3/4" posted. For
the fountain users amongst us, it's just a
little shorter -- and with a similar girth --
to a Montblanc 149!

Delta's Israel 60th Anniversary pens

In 1948 the nation of Israel declared
independence and in 2008 Israel celebrates
its 60th anniversary.

The Israel60 collection offers 948 fountain
pens with particulars in vermeil (.925
sterling silver gold-plated) featuring the
lateral lever filling system. It offers also
1948 fountain pens and 1948
ballpens/rollerballs, both with trimmings in
sterling silver with aged finish. The
Limited Edition fountain pen features a
converter or cartridge (threaded) filling
system and the rollers are easily convertible
into ball pens.

His Nibs on PBS

The PBS show Tempo featured a segment on His
Nibs this week, and the full show can be seen
here http://www.wlvt.org/TEMPO/Videopages/tempo521.htm.
If you have the time, you might enjoy
watching the full half-hour (there's some
neat newsreel footage from 1941).

Although it lacks a few introductory shots of
one of my pen cases; my holding a Sheaffer
Legacy 2 Blue Pearl special edition pen; and
a comment or two by the show's hostess after
the report, the link on the homepage below is to
the actual segment...which runs a bit under 5
minutes.

On the blog...Dracula's pen

Some of you may have seen this video
circulating the Net this week. It's not for
those who have an aversion to needles!

Let's just say that this is one inventor with
a bit too much time on his hands...and who
takes what he writes very seriously.
