I was out running errands, had just finished up & was homebound when I saw an old biplane pass in front of me a couple of hundred fet up. (guessing here, but he was pretty low) The Jefferson City Airport is just across the river. I was really close to home so i dashed in grabbed Venus, Nathsn and the camera & hit the door airport bound. I thought if I was lucky I could get a shot or 2 & share it with everyone here.

We get there and I see this...

Couldnt believe my eyes...or my ears. The rumbling fap fap sound of old plane engines filled the air. Thats more than one plane...???...

Found a place to park & just outside of the hangar area we came across this...

Walked up and asked what was going on. It turns out the American Barn Stormers were in town and I had NO idea.

I got to speak with 2 of the pilots and will do a full write up soon. The word wonderful doesnt come close to saying how great these folks were.

The show was over at 6pm & we got there just about 4:30. So I didn't have a lot of time. Nor was I even remotely prepared to do an interview but I did get some interesting stuff. Used a vintage sterling imperial sheaffer w/ a broad ci nib (noodlers purple)& my filed notes to get it down. (seriously, if you havent tried the FN's yet, your missing out)

I'll let the pics do the talking for me right now. It was a long day & I'm pretty beat.

For you plane buffs there was a... no thats wrong.. THE Stearman 4E Special was in attendance. The only 1 of 3 built in 1930 still flying. (or so the info card says)
