Have any pens you just won or bought on the way into you? well lets see it.
Currently I have a few good ebay wins inbound to me as I type this.
Ebay Item number: 200247395275 Venus president. 2nd from top Gold/Brown Wearever De Luxe 100 4th from top Waterman Crusader bottom
The other 2 are pretty much schlock
Ebay Item number: 270266599220 early/mid 1930's Waterman 52v in Olive Ripple. (for $30 OH YEAH!!) The other 5 are decent 3rd tier pens with good looking celluloid
Ebay Item number: 140260062416 Esterbrook J (larger of the 2) and an SJ (short J) Waterman Stateligh & Crusader OS Sheaffer Balance Looks like a Burgundy Touchdown but could very easily be a Snorkel
The blue wearever is junk. good for the J bar in the barrel & possibly the nib
Ebay Item number: 350090940411 The only pieces of real interest here are the Green Flat top (quite likely a national product) The Green esterbrook pencil to match the J model in the other auction The BCHR Moore Sleeve/Safety filler The rest is pretty much crap
Ebay Item number: 200247686746 The only 2 I'm interested in are the Diampond Point And the Gold Filled Sheaffer Flat Top (SCORE!!!!)
Ebay Item number: 350089700416 How about a VERY uncommon Valentine (an early English Parker cousin) Anyone have any info on these? I could use an assist.
Ebay Item number: 120295191647 The Sterling Sheaffer Imperial showed up. No dings but COVERED in tiny scuffs. Too far gone to save the surface/finish. it's pretty dusky now, but writes a great semiflex fine side of medium line? (anyone want it? I'll make you a great deal)
There are a few 51's floating around out there as well. The sales offerings in the next week or 3 are going to be very sweet.
Waht 'cha got coming in? Dennis

Those Osmiroids are usually a great buy. I have a lever filler here with a 3 tined 3 or 4 Broad music nib. Want to talk about a SUH-WEET writer, this kid just rocks. IIRC don't esterbrook nibs fit these and vice versa?
I've said it for years. Just because a pen isn't in the 'big 4 manufacturers' or a first tier from another manufacturer, doesn't mean it's not very nice pen. I've been using a Wearever bullet pen. The Broad stub nib has been keeping pace and doing it with style all night long. I love this little guy.

Yep, sure do. I got an old lever fill Osmiroid 65 with a dud sac and a cracked section. Screwed the beautiful medium italic out and put it in my estie desk pen at work. Just a beautiful writer.

Just got a nice Mandarin Yellow Flattop and should have a Mandarin Yellow Edison Herald from Brian Gray here in 1-2 weeks. Also have the final 4 Sheaffer/Levenger Seas pens (1 FP, 2 BP's and 1 RB on the way to me.
The Sheaffer/Levenger Seas are a great value for how much pen you get. You don't happen tohave a duplicate smoke or purple you'd want to let go of do you?
I knowyou have a lot of Mandarin pens. When are you going to do some group shots and kill everyone with envy/pen lust..lol

Ok now I don't feel as bad with my scrawny little 5.0 Kodak easyshare...lol. I need a serious upgrade too. This thing has been used & abused over the past couple of years. I've seen some 10mp I like but $$ is the major issue for me.
Agreed. I like them unposted so balamce isn't a huge issue for me. I really like the nibs & overall girth of the pen. The hourglass shaped section on the seas vs. the straighter/taper on the connisseur (sp?) is a lot more comfortable for my hand.
If you bump across a user of either of these in your travels w/ a M/b ((stub?))nib let me know.

I picked up a nice looking 51 set that still hasn't made it in yet. Seller says probably tomorrow or so.
It's a full size set, honestly it doesnt look like it's ever seen ink. The pencil still has the sticker on the barrel. It's got the MK 1 aerometric filler & in other pics from the auction i can just make out an imprint so it'll have a date code on it. Post 1950 or so didn't get barrel imprints. Aerometrics came out in ;late '48 so it'll most likel;y be a first or 2nd year aerometric production piece.
I paid a little more than I usually would but if it's uninked then it's most certainly worth it. If it has, i'll still make a few bucks when I flip it.
Here's a pic from the auction. Looks pretty sweet to me.

No sweat at all. I'll do a full write up & pics when it's ready to hit ebay. I think it may have been here this morning already. The idiot Fedex guy left a door tag saying they TRIED to deliver this at 8:20 morning. I was up before 7 AM & watching the news, less than 4' away from the front door. Noone knocked or rang my bell. ggrrrrr now I have to wait until tomorrow.

Well, Dennis, it looks like it was worth the extra pieces of gold to get this set. Nice pick up.

Turns out it was inked but I had to take off the hood/shell to find out. Even so, it's a wonderful set. The box is KUH-LEEN! Not a hint of ink or pencil smears on the inner fabric.
I wish I could keep it but I really need the coin right now. a $700 electric bill will do that to the budget.

Osmiroid 65 with six italic nibs. I had intended to put some on my Esties, but they will also fit my Wearevers now that I'm interested in the Wearevers, I bought with the Esties.
Those two orders cost me a bottle of 40 year old single Malt. Well the chance to take a look at the price, at a tasting. Drinking is bad for my health. You know fainting at the price of a bottle of it.
Every time I turn around, the market crashes....buy high, and wait for years...to get even....I'm doing something wrong. By the time I get around to selling those extra fine to uncirculated gold coins, the price of gold will have dropped too. No scratches and some idiot will just throw them in a bag to melt. He won't even place them there; just thunk and rattle. The classic case of buy low and sell low.
I also ordered the Osmiroid Calligraphy book for cheap. It appears I'm serious about learning how to draw letters and then learning to write well. Writing is easy on the liver, I've heard.
