This is a snippet of the article on striped Duofolds Richard Binder has on his site. No connection with Richard or his site other than being a regular reader.
"After retiring the Streamlined Duofold from its catalog in 1935 (but continuing manufacture in the U.S.A. at least into 1937), Parker reintroduced the Duofold name in 1939, giving it to the inexpensive Duofold Geometric (“Toothbrush”), a button-filling model. In 1940, the Geometric was replaced by the “striped” Duofold.."
This style was only made in 1940 and 41. In 1942 they went with a blind cap minus the tassie.
2Q 1941 Dusty Red Striped Parker Vac. Barleycorn cap band. The 14K medium Parker semi flex nib is beyond nice to use. Silky silky smooth & flexes to a wide Broad. The imprint has some wear but is still very clear. The only issue with this little lady is the brassing. All of the metal trim parts have it. The celluloid is in great condition with only a little wear showing.
Take it home before someone else does! $100
