If anyone has a Diplomat Butterfly fountain pen, I have some spare carts---about ten, a dozen, in purple and fuschia.

I'll mail them to you if you want them.

Thats really cool of you man. My friend Shelly was talking to me about a thread on FPN called pay it forward or something like that, with folk offering up free (or nearly so) goodies for those who want them.

I've been thinking about starting up something like that here because it's just a fantastic idea & all around good karma generator for all involved.

I'll set something up soon. I'm on the wife units laptop & I hate it.

My PC picked up a NASTY 'virus/worm/gonna jack your junk up' problem & is being worked on by said wifey type.

I just click the "Recent Posts" link in the top menu each time I visit here.

And I have to add that the earlier Sheaffer No Nonsense pens are some of the best writers around, so this will be a great set for beginner or veteran alike.

As for my Diplomat Butterfly, it's one of those 'gee-this-looks-cool' purchases I made early on. I can't even find a reference to the pen online, but it's a mini-pen and these carts will fit only that model. SOMEONE has to have one besides me, lol.

I write with them. The F and maybe even M work fine as casual writers. And they produce great shading.

Well, following the instructions and with a great deal of patience and swearing, I can get acceptable italic characters, one downstroke at a time. The nibs have square corners that are entirely unforgiving and a pretty hard edge, so they don't accept and upstroke very well. Hence, not good for casual writing, at least for me. They're much like my calligraphic dip nibs in that regard. smile.gif

you could always hack them and round the corners slightly... I'm sure that traditionally that would have happened ;)

But they weren't MEANT for casual writing, and I'm reluctant to modify them when I have many other pens that are.
