For Sale are three Pens from my private collection- rare in their own particular ways.

For sale are three limited edition pens from my private collection.  The collection that these 3 pens come from has been built over the last 24 years and has held some of the most desirious pens of several decades.  The care in which they were chosen is a hallmark of my personal taste and ability to find the classic and beautiful.  Please read the paragraphs below and look at the photographs.  If you still have any questions please email me and I will attempt to answer them.

First Pen is a Montegrappa
---------------------------
Montegrappa Marostica also known as the Game of Chess Pen. it is a translucent red resin with silver overlay engraved with pictures associated with the chess match. It is a HUGE piston filler holding a bunch of ink and I believe the feed is ebonite with a fine medium nib.

From the M. Website is the following information: Marostica is a charming little town surrounded by splendid protective town walls. This medieval hamlet, close to Montegrappa?s offices, is visited every day by curious tourists that come to admire the enormous chessboard of the Piazza, famous in the world for its beauty and for the event related to it. The ideal symbol of a tradition repeated since centuries, the chess-game is an appointment that has become history and legend, a spectacular show that since ages ties the town to a medieval event. According to tradition, in 1454 the regent Taddeo Parisio invited the suitors of his daughter Lionora, Rinaldo da Angaran and Vieri da Vallonara, to contend for her hand in a peaceful chess challenge. Montegrappa greets the new Millennium with Marostica, an annual edition entirely inspired from the game of chess. Once more the exclusive technique of low-relief engraving celebrates history, narrating the event with images finely engraved on the chess background of the body and of the cap. The fountain pen features a partially platinum plated 18K gold nib with an iridium tip, a barrel with an exceptional capacity, a hand turned ebonite feeder and elegant crimson resin. Every detail, every sophisticated element of this unique writing instrument is perfect harmony between functionality and elegance, style and tradition. The body, manufactured in sterling silver or in 18K gold, boasts a square section, a shape inspired from the chessboard. To close this small masterpiece comes a cap enhanced by a clip decorated with the image of a medieval tower.

Second is a Montblanc Writer's Edition Shaw
---------------------------------------------
The MB website has this to say: Dark green marbled lacquer punctuated with platinum-plated fittings. These are the style features of the new Writers Edition in honour of the distinguished Irish free thinker George Bernard Shaw. This pen is inspired by Shaws best-known character from his play Pygmalion: Eliza Doolittle. Just as Eliza, a poor flower girl, is brought up to be an aristocratic lady, so the fine platinum of the pen is replaced more and more towards the cap by the opulent dark green of the precious resin. This deep, marbled green, indeed, originally represents the lush green meadows of Ireland that Shaw left behind. And lastly, the hand-made 18 carat gold nib beautifully engraved with a flower evokes Shaws figure of the flower girl

After nearly 70 years, Fantasia continues to be an innovative artistic highpoint in Disney's heritage having received two honorary academy awards for outstanding contribution to the advancement of the use of sound in motion pictures, and a unique achievement in the creation of a new form of visualized music.

An ancient reverse hand-painting process called "Nabu" is used. Like the Film the pen's design is meant to inspire the untapped creativity within us all and salutes the artistry of Fantasia.

The limited edition of 1,940 pieces of writing mode includes a fountain pen enhanced with a 14kt gold nib, available in Fine, Medium and Broad widths. Cartridge/Converter refills. The collection is completed with a matching rollerball and ballpoint pen. Included is a splendid gift box, hand made of solid wood and hand lacquered to furniture grade perfection.

Is it the pens or the price that keep them from being sold?

Most probably the pens.

I don't usually look for expensive pens (as I can't afford them) so I am not going to pronounce about the prices. Your pens are definitely not every day ones, they are quite special. Regardless of the price, pens from which they are millions available are easier to sell for the right price. Exclusive ones take more time, usually.

Just MHO.

I guess I should have also added another possibility being the audience might be the right fit for the level of the pen.
