i've always wondered about banned members too. what got them banned? why can't we talk about it?
i've had several threads locked at a watch forum a while back for asking about banned members and why they got banned. what could they have possibly done that was SSOOOOO bad? really.
and i was told not to discuss such things and the thread was locked.
was sent a pm by a mod telling me i would be banned if i brought such things up again and that this particular guy got banned for questioning moderators. REALLY???? that's whY??!!!
when i first started reading over at fpn, i noticed this user, titivillus, who had THOUSANDS of posts, but he was banned.
titivillus? why did you get banned? i'm really curious. i'm sure it was something stupid, but i wanna know.
hope i'm not stepping on any toes.
and Rita: seriously? only fpn posts on your facebook account were deleted??? then you should start a facebook fansite called "fpn deleted my facebook account!" or something like that.
Kurt, dear, let's find your break-down thread and publish it here. Whatever you wrote there, everyone will understand you, considering you were coming through that terrible disaster. In the "banned moderator" thread, someone mentioned reading it from a downloaded file. I think it was Lloyd, and it might be Perry who has that file.
This will be the only way to free all of us from that karma. To see and understand the truth and forgive our accusers for they don't know what they are doing. If you want, I can pull some connections and find that thread.
What do you think, Kurt?
It's time to get out of that purgatory they sent you.
I don't think it's very healthy or productive to have all these personal issues somehow arising out of the use or collection of pens.
No it is not productive to have issue from a hobby. But unfortunately the operators of FPN have started vendettas against posters there.
I just can't imagine how posting and socializing on a pen board has led in some cases to such venom, animosity and hurt feelings.
Because it comes down to interactions with people. Being able to feel a sense of community and having that taken away from you.
Remember that the worst possible thing that can be done to an Amish is being shunned from the community.
Imagine posting for several years- think it was about 5 for me then being shunned.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, if I have no interest in screwing over those who have actually screwed ME, why in the hell would I care to take on what you perceive to be FPN's "battle" with you and Rita? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's true looking back you mostly made personal attacks on Rita. my error.
Quite honestly, I really don't give a damn about it either way. What I don't want to see is most users' enjoyment of our hobby being diminished because of a few individuals' personal vendettas. Honestly, what pen enthusiasts really want to deal with crap that has absolutely nothing to do with the hobby?
One has to experince the effects of ostracism on their own skin to know how cruel such punishment is.
I'd better be tortured by the natzis and sent to be burn in their ovens than to be thrown out of community of my friends, by my own friends, with whom I share a lot of common interests. I'd know that the natzis were just screwed-up, and I didn't do anything wrong. I'd feel like a hero.
There should be a very good reason for social ostracism. But I can see by my own eyes and derive from my own experiences that no reason is actually necessary for some people in power to do that...
I wonder if such spiritual cruelty is legally allowed for a non-porfit organization that has its office address in America and accepts charitable donations on its name.
I like being naive...or at least pretending to be naive.
A part of me wishes I can unlearn some of the things I have learned about FPN. But life doesn't work that way. Over the past 6 months I learned things that have changed my view of FPN for the worse. Most of this wasn't by choice but by chance.
It's kinda of like the movie the 'Matrix'. At some point, you have to decide to take the red pill or the blue pill. I chose to take the red pill. It's not in my nature to hide from the truth. I don't hate or dislike the admins (maybe I really dislike one of them) but I'm much more wary of what I post on FPN. I hate having to be so deliberate when I post on FPN.
Some of the things said in this thread probably seem overly melodramatic to some. I don't think Rita or Kurt have a vendetta against FPN. They might not like the way things played out on FPN but they are entitled to their opinions. As far as I see, they are just speaking their minds. There are others out there whose hatred of FPN and the admins run much deeper. These people will attack the FPN admins if they show their face on PenTrace. There is now a standing policy for FPN admins not to post on PenTrace.
One of the things that is really bothering me about the powers that be at FPN is that they try to control what people can and cannot say beyond FPN. I accept that FPN is their house and you have to play by their rules. Although, I wish the rules were more transparent. They seem to have a tendency to want to control what people say on PenTrace and on Facebook for example. The fact that they demanded Rita to apologise for things said on her Facebook page is unacceptable. As to how they found out about what was said on Facebook is another sad story as is the mysterious disappearance of certain Facebook posts.
FPN is back up, and running. There does not seem to be any more issues. As I mentioned (FPN must have read it here! ), a freeware program like SpyBot is very good at taking care of any spam/filters/bots/tracking stuff added to a system as a result of visiting them.
As for any opinions or personal feelings, about anyone at this forum (or FPN), please refrain from these personal attacks. No one here is "out to get" anyone! We do not know (nor worry) about the fate of others at other forums. We do, however, look to what happens here. If you are paranoid about the other forum, then you should avoid it.
