HisNibs.com update -- Re-stocking from China July 23rd, 2010
Greetings,
This will just be a brief newsletter to let everyone know of the large re-stocking order just received from China, as we've just returned from our brief vacation.
Although it's always great to get away, however briefly, to refresh and recharge, vacation has become something of a dirty word since I started my pen business thirteen years ago. It always takes at least twice as long to catch up after my return!
I won't list all of the returning models, but if you've been staring at 'sold out' signs on the website for awhile, chances are good that your favorite pens are once again in stock. If not, it indicates that my suppliers in China were unable to supply me this time.
The next newsletter will begin to feature some of the new models that I've found, once I've had time to photograph them and put up their webpages.
One new addition to the site is a contribution on the Writer's page http://www.hisnibs.com/writers.htm from Jack Labusch, entitled 'Why Fountain Pens', which I think you'll enjoy reading.

"My pen order arrived today! I have been considering the Haolilai ZHF101 first. The nib is very nice; smooth, proper ink delivery. Pen has great balance. The finish of the pen is exceptional. The gold flake, speckled design is noticeable yet not overpowering. My wife was going to confiscate it for her own use but decided she was afraid she would loose it, so i still have it! This is easily the finest $45 pen I have ever seen." R. S., North Platte, NE
"In general, if I were to choose a line of pens, it would be the Haolilai...I find it not only beautiful in a subdued, unpretentious way, but also comfortable and marvelously well designed. It also writes with a fluidity that I haven't found in pens tens of times more expensive." M. A., Springfield, IL
"This pen with its powerful bold black body and star burst gold cluster glitter brilliance is its statement of quality. But what caught my attention is the gold sharp dagger like nib. It is very different from other nibs. Powerful and quick when writing out decisive directives." N. S., Van Nuys, CA

Pilot Pen has created a free method for you to turn your handwriting into your own computer font. See the video here. The site also has a grid for you to download, to write your handwritten letters and numbers into, which you can then post back to the site by either capturing with a scanner or webcam! Their software then converts your handwritten characters into your own personal font. Pretty neat.
