HisNibs.com update -- Black beauties July 24th, 2011
Greetings all,
I'm introducing three new pen models in this update, two from Jinhao and one from Duke...all with a black theme.
It's time to remind everyone that even if I don't stock the full Delta line from Italy, I can have most models in hand -- at substantial discount -- within a week.
I'd write more....but 'I'm mellllllllllllting', like the Wicked Witch of the West http://youtu.be/6qHaIO0LU38, during this record-breaking heat wave!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jinhao Silver General
Although the pen gives the appearance of having a metal overlay, in fact the design is incised through the outer lacquer coating, down into the base metal. It provides for a nice texture in the hand, as well as a certain three-dimensional appearance.
The pen measures 5-1/2" capped, 5-7/8" posted and 4-5/8" with cap held aside. It's metal construction produces a pleasant heft in the hand, without being uncomfortably heavy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jinhao White Spatter
This finish on this pen is reminiscent to me of Jackson Pollock paintings...of a spatter of white paint on a black canvas. It's a very sharp-looking pen, and quite unlike anything else I've seen.
Removing the slip cap -- which securely reattaches with a satisfying snap -- reveals the oversized nib (larger than that on a Pelikan M800 for instance, but not quite as large as that one a Montblanc 149), as well as the cleverly-designed section, with grooved finger pads for a secure grip. The nib is a two-toned, 18K gold-plated steel nib. I personally find these nibs a joy to use, and rate them as western mediums.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Duke Viceroy Black & Gold
The Viceroy series are mid-sized pens, measuring 5-1/4" capped, 6-1/8" posted and 4-1/2" with cap held aside. If you are one who posts the cap while writing, even with the metal interlay the pen is well balanced. The matte-finished capband is engraved with 'DUKE' on the clip side, and on the reverse the model number '216B'. The clip bears the DUKE 'crown' logo.
The new Black and Gold version of this model is the only one currently available to me from China.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Delta Dolcevita medium
This black and terracotta beauty, the Dolcevita, has become the flagship pen of Delta. Even with all of the wonderful Limited Editions that the company produces, this is the pen model that pen aficionados instantly recognize as Delta.
As I don't generally stock many Delta pens, please follow this link to YAFA http://www.yafa.com/Delta_Pens.shtml (Delta's importer) to see the full line that's available. If it's in stock, I'm able to have your pen in hand within a week, at a 20% discount from retail.

"It is time to panic. Another US state, Indiana, can't be fagged to teach joined-up writing in its primary schools. US core standards say it doesn't have to, so it isn't going to. It is the 42nd state to give up on joined-up writing and concentrate on keyboard skills. That is nearly the whole of the US, and if it is doing it, you can bet your life we will soon be doing it - which means the end of civilisation as we know it. In my opinion."
