HisNibs.com update -- Arrival of the slow boat from China September 27th, 2011
Greetings,
I've re-stocked all of the Chinese pens that could be re-stocked at this particular time. As there are too many to list in this email, I'll just show you a few highlights. For easier reference, I've posted all of them on the homepage with a back-in-stock label (although there are fewer models available now on October 1st than September 27th -- please sign up for my newsletter on the homepage, if you want to be among the first notified of new and re-stocked items).
The other slow boat from China bears all of the Pilot 78G pens. As I write this, they've not yet arrived, but were shipped last week...so should be here any time now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jinhao Pearl Windows
"Dear Norman, I received the Pearl Windows fountain pen. Yikes it lovely! It writes like a dream. I'm using it for some extremely important healthful New Year journaling/processing. With purple ink. Thanks also for your gracious help in discerning the efficaciousness of my "hint" regarding this pen to my husband! It worked out perfectly!" V. S. P., Plymouth, MN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hero 616 Standard & Demi
"Got the pens a few days ago and giving the test run. I am really impress by the way the Hero Demi 616, it writes better than a lot of my brand name fountain pens, such as parker 75, montblanc lapis, or pelikan...I had a Montblanc i think grand 146 and the nib if i remember was 18k med and the pen sucks, it would skip or leave a deep ink spot, such that i got so piss off that i bend the point and threw the pen away and i think i paid $150 + back then in the 1980's. I was hesitant to try a Chinese pen for fear of inferior craftsman ship and poor performance , but i think my mind may have been change by the parker 51 knock off. They really not only copy but seem to improve on the brand name pens...So these Chinese pens will probably give the brand name guys a real run for the money." K. W., Nutley, NJ

A creative customer penned two Haiku poems upon receiving his Multifunction pen:
"Multifunction rolls smooth as smooth as silky stream, this my working choice
Brush now to be used shall I be surprised with this, learn to paint at last"
John Brown, Billericay, United Kingdom

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jinhao Starry Night
"Hi Norman. Oh, these are just beautiful... I have a few nose-bleedingly expensive Japanese raden pens and I've become reluctant to use one of them because the lacquer's pitting. This Jinhao has all the bling and fascination of raden without my having to worry about damaging them in daily use. The nibs are wonderful and the whole pen feels well made and satisfyingly robust. You really can't beat Chinese pens. They never cease to amaze me. Thanks!" K.T., United Kingdom
"Hi Norman, I'm gonna rave about the Baoer 8 Horses that came today. It is the smoothest nib I have ever used! That includes many $100-200 pens in my collection. Nobody is going to believe that this is a $20 pen. The brass construction gives it a solid feel, and it balances perfectly in my hand even when posted. I have the bronze finish, and am running Pelikan Brilliant Brown - makes for a nice combination!" T. T., Ann Arbor, MI
"Norman, I just received the Haolilai ZHF300. I couldn't wait to try it out. From filling the converter to the first stroke - what a smooth pen. Its everything I expected and more. Not to mention the box." C.W., Eden Prairie, MN
"The 'Urbee' was made using a special printer which built up layer upon layer of bodywork - almost as if the car was 'painted' into existence, except using layers of ultra-thin composite that are slowly 'fused' into a solid. "
